A concert series centred solely on the piano in its most important chamber music instrumentations is a novelty in the Austrian musical landscape. This unique model of chamber music is not only an enrichment of the cultural life of the city of Graz, but also a classical addition to the numerous festivals already native to Styria.
MusikabendeGRAZ made its truly successful debut in 2008 and continued at full speed in 2009, staging a total of eight sold-out concerts at the Congress Graz Chamber Music Hall over these two years. In 2010 concertgoers will again be treated to four exclusive evenings of high-class piano chamber music, during which works by Haydn, Schostakowitsch, Schumann, Prokofieff, Ravel, Brahms, Mozart, Liszt and Friedrich Gulda will be performed.
Besides the initiator of the concert series Christian Schmidt the artists Maria Bader-Kubizek, Rudolf Leopold, Rachel Schmidt, Paul Gulda, Stephanie Grandpierre and Manuel Hofer will be giving concerts.
